I started working on a series of post-it mosaics recently…. they still have a way to go, but I laid them out for a start just to see what the finished product may look like. what do yo think? Heading in the right direction. I am working on a few more tiles and hope to have the complete set as one piece soon. It’s always fun to try new things.
Also gearing up for my second anniversary of the Daily. Two years of non-stop doodling. Time to get some worldly recognition. Nahhh, I just love what I do.
In the mean time here’s one of the panels in the post-it mosaic doodles.

Here’s a rotated

So, we did end up getting a couple of inches of snow, which in DC is more of nuisance than a snow event. The roads are a mess, but we can be thankful we didn’t get the same dumping that we received this week last year. Now we can only wonder what the commute will be like in the morning.
I have been working on these post-its for a while now. Every now and then when i’m on the phone I grab a post-it rather than a sheet of paper and while solving some acute problem, whip one of these up. Today I was looking for something on my desk and found some of these, so thought it was the right time to add them to the collection.
I do like the way these turned out:

Crash Aborted!
I am back up and running and able to post on a regular schedule and keep the streak alive. We will not miss a day. Yesterday, while I was down (at home) I was able to post a couple of twitpics of some post-it note doodles I had lying around the office. Then I realized I had scanned a while bunch a while back, so those became the segue to today’s doodle. It’s been a while since I did a series on post-it notes, so now is a good a time as ever.
These have always been a favorite of mine. It’s so easy, while you are on the phone at work to grab a post-it and start scribbling. Well those scribbles turned into doodles, which in turn found a life of their own online.
If you do a quick search for post-it on my blog, you will see the many others that I have done. Here is today’s series.

These days postits come in all shapes and sizes. I found these really bright and colorful square ones in a pack at CVS the other day. That’s the nice thing about back to school you find all these fun things for dirt cheap.
I started doodling on them and thought I would take the design right to the edge and in some cases over. Simple designs that fill up the whole surface. I really like how they came out and when putting the squares togetherI love the tiled effect. Let me know what you think.

Spirals to the edge

Honeycomb to the edge

spots n more to the edge

Spiral Star to the edge

Circles to the edge
And when you bring them all together, you are left with tile of doodled color.

To the edge and back
I cannot believe we are already into September, the kids are back at school and I am having to surface at 5:45 am, to get them to the bus. Not fair! Summer just flew by, even the weather has turned chilly (for a few days at least). Before we know it we will be in coats, hats & scarves. Although I must admit I do love the winter, but for now it can wait a while, I’m enjoying the sunshine and we had a very mild summer this year.
As for the doodles, our postit series continues. I did some really cute ones, in an hour long meeting today, which I still need to scan in. I will do that in a couple of days, because I still have the ones I did over the weekend to put up. So for Wednesday Sept 2nd here are a couple more “doodles on a postit note” These I will call “The Pink Series”

I took my postit notes with me to the OATS meeting yesterday. The meeting has been moved, but I had fun putting these together. It’s now become a staple as I walk into the meeting they asked me what I plan to doodle today. So for all those in attendance and those following at home here is the posit OATS doodle for today. Aren’t these little guys so cute. This mini-doodling might become a habit.
I always receive such nice comments from Dee, who has a doodle blog of her own and she is very creative. She really liked yesterday’s postit. Thanks Dee. You should check out her blog called “one foot out of the box” She does some really fun female faces. Her doodles are such a joy and you can tell she enjoys what she does. Dee, I hope you like today’s postit doodle too.
