Now is the perfect time stock up on your Holiday cards for the upcoming Holiday season. We have a whole range of Christmas and Hanukkah cards on the Tjomies Stationery Site and I have created a new Page up top where I will be putting details on how you can order. To kick things off here are a few samples. We do more than just Doodle Art cards, so you need to look at the whole range.
Here’s a link to the Doodle Art Holiday section that is part of the Tjomies Vintage Greeting cards range.
We’ll kick things off with our Christmas range and then later in the week the Hanukkah Cards. Send me an e-mail warren@tjomiesvintagestationery.com to get yours as soon as possible, because we can make to order. Look at our XMAS cards page on the blog for more details.

Joy to the world
This being the last weekend in November, it’s starting to get much colder with the wind stepping up and carrying away the last remaining leaves. Soon the trees will be completely bare and our nights will drop below freezing. Winter is right around the corner, but lucking he doesn’t stick around too long and soon we will be relishing the blossoms in spring.
Here’s what the last remaining days of fall mean to the doodler in me:
Falls last Stand
To those that braved the stores on Black Friday, all I can say is why? Were the bargains worth it? did you get what you set out to find? I hear that some stores opened at midnight and some deals were still available at noon. So I’m sure some people got lucky.
For those who braved the cold, stood in line in the early hours and came away empty handed, all I can say is
WHY?
Why?
Doesn’t that sound ominous. To me Black Friday sounds like doomsday, but I guess for those already in line for the day after Thanksgiving specials it probably is a daunting thought. It used to be that you could get up at 5:00 am and head to the stores to get in line. Now a days the stores are opening at 4 & 5 am so you have to be in line hours before. Midnight won’t cut it, these days you have to be in line straight after Thanksgiving dinner. It’s cold, it’s a long night…. that 42″ Samsung better be worth it.
Here’s a doodle or two to keep you company as you wait for the stores to open up.
The chaos of Black Friday
Black Friday, does that really sound like a good day to go shopping.
Skip the sales, Sleep in, the specials will be there again (ok, maybe not that 42″ Samsung for 2oo bucks, but you wanna know a secret, it’s probably not there at all)
Have a great “Day after Thanksgiving”
It is finally here. Thanksgiving 2009. Turkey day. A day to sit back, reflect, give thanks, watch football and eat. Thanksgiving, the day before Black Friday. Can you believe that some stores are opening at 4:00 am (way to go Kohls!). I must admit that I do like the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s a nice relaxing day in the middle of the week. Nothing happens until late afternoon, when families get together over an oven roasted stuffed turkey. Not to mention the yams and cranberry sauce.
I doodled my Thanksgiving Turkey more than a year ago, when I first started doodling a new range of greeting cards. I created this paisley turkey and I held off posting it until today. I was so proud of my turkey and today it makes it’s world debut. I would love to hear what you think.
For all those celebrating Turkey Day, have a great thanksgiving. Don’t over eat. Doodle instead.
A Perfectly Doodled Paisley Turkey
I found these designs that I had done at different stages, a while back, and I thought they make a nice family together. Since family is what this week is all about, I though these would go well the day before Thanksgiving.

What can I say about this one?
I told you there were more of the ladies waiting in the wings and now is there turn to shine. I’m sure there will be more where these came from. These ladies were such fun to do. I hope you all get a kick out of them too.

The weekend turned out to be a wonderful one and now we have a short week to look forward to. I always love the Thanksgiving week. Maybe it’s the food, maybe it’s the store bargains, or maybe it’s because it is the start of the holiday season. But everyone is always is a good mood this week. Workloads are generally lighter, homework is less and people are getting into the holiday spirit. I can’t wait to finally debut my Turkey Doodle, which has been waiting in the wings for nearly a year. You’ll have to wait until Thursday for Tom Turkey to make his debut.
In the meantime, I have plenty of fun doodles for you to enjoy. Starting with this interesting shapes:

Our Family celebration continued well into the night. We had a wonderful time. Good Food, Good Music, Good Times and Family too. What could be better. If I had the energy, I would write much more…
Celebration
I am spending this weekend with friends and family that are visiting for near and far. They are hear for a family occasion and it is wonderful to spend time with people you have not seen in many years. You reconnect and it’s like you have never been apart. Close connections you make in life are with your forever. So one should never take family and friends for granted, they are always there for you in good times and bad.
Seize the moment when you have a chance to spend with loved ones and cherish the times you spend together. A good philosophy going into the Thanksgiving week.
Today’s Doodle is dedicated to family far and wide. We love you all and to the 2 special people celebrating today. Enjoy!
