Day 944 – Stenos in Stereo

January 30th, 2012 No comments

Here is day 2 of the Steno doodle series.  As you can see some pages were filled and others not.  It all depended on how much time I had to work on the page.  Some were done in a few minutes, others over a few days.

Day 943 – Steno Doodles

January 29th, 2012 No comments

I started this latest series a few weeks ago,  where I would use a steno pad and just my red, black and blue sharpie pens and went with the mood.  No plan, no direction just what ever came to mind.  I said I would wait until I finished the pad before I posted anything and now that it’s done I love the way things came out.  So this next week I will display only the Steno book doodles from start to finish, so that you can see the changes and progression. why not do the same, pick up a pad, pick up a pen and fill the page, then send your steno doodles to me to include in the world doodle challenge.

For starters here are the first of the Steno Pad series:

Day 939 – Late Nite Mandala

January 25th, 2012 No comments

I was hoping to do a wrap up on the Oscar Nominations for today, but I was working late and got caught up with things at home, before I knew it, it was 12:20 am (as I type this) and I am just too fatigued to write.  I have my doodle all ready to go, but just no energy for words.  I should go sleep and I will in just a few…. Tennis (Australian Open Quarters) are on too and I am distracted.  So I will go straight to the doodle and we’ll catch up tomorrow.  Here’s a mid week Mandala.

Day 938 – Nominations Today

January 24th, 2012 No comments

Oscar Nominations day is always a fun day for me.  We’ve already had a slew of awards shows, but the day the Oscars are announced is always met with great anticipation.  One might say the nominations are predictable, but come Nominations Tuesday there is always a surprise and you wait with baited breath to see who is in and who is out, and how many nominations will be big winners receive.  I will talk  more about the nominations after they come out later today, but if you want to get in on the action follow along with Sasha Stone at “The Awards Daily”  or The Awards Circuit

Here’s an anticipation doodle:

Day 936 – Annie L

January 22nd, 2012 1 comment

There is a new exhibit at the Smithsonian American Art Museum called Annie Liebovitz: Pilgrimage which charts a new direction for one of America’s best-known living photographers.  This series of Photographs showcase subjects that moved the artist as opposed to her usual carefully staged and lit portraits.  Since I had never been to the Portrait Gallery and this exhibit just opened on Friday, we took ourselves downtown to enjoy the exhibition first hand.

I was pleasantly surprised.  The exhibit itself is small, but there are so many delights that the Museum has to offer that soon I was lost wondering the halls of presidential portraits and numerous other famous people.

There is so much in this great city of ours that I never fully take advantage of, maybe now I’ll be making more frequent trips into the cultural heart of DC.  If you want to find out more about the Annie Liebovitz exhibition take a look that American Art Museum site.

Note quite “portrait gallery” ready, here is my doodle of the day
