One of my ispirations for starting the Doodle daily blog was Noah Scalin’s Skull-a-Day Blog. I have spoken about Noah often and today he did a very nice feature on The doodle Daily hitting 365. Noah has inspired many artistic people to take the 365 challenge (He posted a new Skull every day). I just did it with Doodles. To see a clearer version of the entry, take a look at Noah’s kind words on his Bonus blog for today.
Here’s an image of what was posted:
Today I post my 365th doodle.
Our One Year Anniversary
One year of drawing, scrbbling, post-its, tiles and more
Celebrities and Fans
I took on this challenge and without fail
posted a new doodle everyday for year.
I hope you have enjoyed this journey as much as I have.
Tomorrow we enter Year 2 and there will be many fun and incredible new adventures
so make sure you visit often, because we’re not going anywhere.
Three Hundred and sixty four days of doodles. We’re almost there and nothing will stop us, not even a power outage. Like the USPS, through wind and rain and snow, we will be there.
Today’s doodle is fitting for the second to last day of year 1 of our 365 day quest. The egg cracking open and ready to hatch for the new year.
What will the new year hold? Where will we go? Only time will tell.
But you will always have the doodles to enjoy.
As you’ve probably noticed, no doodle has gone up yet today (it’s coming). We had a power outage late yesterday afternoon. It had to be heat related, because there were no storms or anything. By the time we went to bed, the power was still out and so I could not get my usual midnight posting up in time. Actually I am still having problems uploading images today, so today’s doodle will be coming out a little later in the day.
Never fear, this will not stop me from making the 365. There will be a doodle posting today. It’s just going to be a little later than normal. With 2 days before the 1 year, I will not let a power outage let me down.
Trapped in a Doodle
Yesterday was a glorious summer’s day. Let’s hope today is the same. Today’s doodle is another one I did during my marathon meeting session last week.
What started off as a simple shape ended up as something completely different. That’s why I love to doodle, you never know what the outcome will be. These were not supposed to be faces. I drew a shape and was going to fill it in and expand from there. Well this is how they ended up as Funky Faces for Day 361.
As an aside, I hope you are all rooting for the US is today’s World Cup soccer match. We need to advance. Go USA! Maybe the Funky Faces can be their mascot in coming years.

This one reminds me of an eagle or vulture coming in to land. He certainly looks like he has found his prey. There is something about this one that I really like. If you look closely it almost seems like he is taking off with his prey in his claws. I can tell you the doodle never started off that way. It’s crazy how they sometimes end up.
The Eagle has Landed
I spent nearly 6 hours in meetings yesterday. Different sessions at different times, but many of them back to back. Plenty of time to put pen to paper, so I came up with several different doodles which I will share with you over the next few days.
The first was done during the morning’s early meeting. My coleague Helen was enjoying my Art, as we had to wait till late in the meeting to give our status and she constantly gave her opinion of where she thought the doodle was going. I did the whole drawing just with dots. It started off with a few small flowers, but soon became an under the sea scene, thanks to Helens suggestion, that she was seeing Coral in the drawing. At first I was seeing fireworks.
Under the Sea - in meetings
This next one was done later in the day and while we were holed up in conference rooms, the US soccer team sneaked into the next round of the world cup with a 1:0 win over Algeria and the longest match in tennis history was going down at Wimbledon. 10 hrs of pure magic with light suspending play at 59-59 in the 5th set WHAT? 59 -59 and they will have to resume play later today. It was quite a day. I think my doodles reflect that too.
Meeting no 2
Here’s a collection of doodles all done on one page, in several sessions….
It shows just where the mind can go at different times, even Oatsie makes an appearance.
This Doodle is taking off. On the rise
