The beauty of the doodle is that it can be interpreted in so many different ways.  It can be just a bunch of squiggles with no meaning at all.  On the other hand one can look deeper and suddenly those squiggles take on a meaning.  This one started out as a flower, that then took on an insect like feel, and before long, this this loving nurturing figure appeared and we had “Parent and Child”.   I can almost feel the invisible arm around the kid saying “Everything will be ok!”  Or maybe not… maybe all it is, is a bunch of squiggles.

That’s the Beauty of Art.

These two were never meant to resemble anything.  they started as a few dots and triangles and evolved into a pair (like Frick and Frack).  They could be a parent and child…. a teacher and student, buddies…. who knows, but it does look like they have a lot to say…. who can guess what they are talking about… help me fill in the blanks by providing a caption!  (leave a comment below)

I thought it was a bit rough, it was done late at night,

but I guess that was how Amy lived her life.

Today, i thought I would cool it down.

Here’s a Floral Monday.

and luckily the weather is doing the same, if only slightly.

Yesterday we lost another musical icon at the tender age of 27.  In the past there have been so many musical greats that left us at 27.  Hendrix, Cobain, Joplin, Morrison and now Winehouse.  Why? We will never know! We don’t know for sure but it’s highly likely that somehow the fast life plagued with drugs and alcohol caught up with this incredible talent and all we can ask is why?  Why throw it all away?  You had the talent, you had the looks, you certainly had the chops and we will never know how great you could have been.  Now all we have are the memories and that haunting voice, may other’s learn from this.  Don’t let drugs and alcohol take it away, you all have a wonderful life to live…. Live it.  Enjoy it.

Gone at 27!

Trying to think of something that will combat this heat.  We need a good thunderstorm.  It is supposed to storm today but only 30 % not good odds when you want to relief from 105 deg temps.   So stay in doors, pour a cold drink and draw!
