Day 335 – Memorial Day

May 31st, 2010 No comments

Memorial Day – Besides being a day off to enjoy with your family and the start of the summer season, it’s also a day to remember those who have over the years fought and died for the US in Military Service.  So while you are out picnicking with family and friends take time to remember those who we have lost protecting the peace we hold so dear.

Here are 2 side by side doodles for Memorial day.

Day 334 – Awesome weather

May 30th, 2010 No comments

Last night was the most beautiful night, the weather was perfect.  We spent the evening out doors at party with a camp theme.  It was such a wonderful night.  Good friends, good music, good food and a bonfire too.  Let’s hope if the summer kicks of this way that it can only get better.

Day 332 – Summer Starts

May 28th, 2010 1 comment

The summer season begins this weekend with the ritual opening of the pools.  Memorial Day picnics and all.  Where is this year flying too, it’s almost June this is crazy.  For those heading to the shore for the first taste of summer, drive safely.  The cops are going to be out in full force this weekend.  Have a relaxing weekend to one and all and Laura have a fun birthday today. Oatsee will be thinking of you.

Day 331 – American Idol Winner

May 27th, 2010 No comments

American Idol season 9 has come to an end.  The days of Simon on Idol are over and how cute was Paula.  In order to find out that Lee Dewyze won season 9 of Americal Idol, we had to endure 2 hours of one has been after another.  I though that Idol this year was aimed at the younger crowd. Well how many teens have even heard of Chicago, Joe Cocker or Hall and Oats.  Now don’t get me wrong I love(d) those guys,  but that was in the 70s and 80s.  These days Joe Cocker has no voice, Chicago were Pitchy and strained and Hall & Oats need a major image change.  Even 2 thirds of the BeeGees didn’t cut it.

And don’t get me started on Christina or Allanis….. Thank goodness we were at least treated to a very stunning looking Janet Jackson, with a once again slimmed down bod and cropped new hair.

As much as I liked Lee, during the season, he was not the worthy winner (Kris Alan all over again) Oh well just like last year the runner up will have the more successful career.

And Please….. do we still need to see the ridiculous acts resurface.  This is American Idol, not American Idiot.  William Hung’s 15 minutes was over years ago, we don’t need to be reminded.

Now that the season is over….. we still need a doodle for the day.  Be sure to check out the Simon Cowell & Ryan Seacrest doodles, I did a while back, but for today we have a non-idol doodle, but it does have a “musical” theme.

Day 330 – Mousee

Yesterday’s Lizard caused quite a stir.  The scary thing is he was real.

This guy on the otherhand (thank goodness) is not.  He is just a little cutie and there is always place at The Doodle Daily for a cutie like this.

Day 329 – The Newt

May 25th, 2010 No comments

We recently had a very unwelcome guest in our midst, and no I’m not talking about the family that were just visiting.  No, we were vistited by the biggest, fattest Lizard I have ever seen.  I was convinced it was a pet that had escaped.  Turns out (after I was able to catch it and drive it over to our local humane society) that he was a harmes “Newt”.  Well I will tell you he was not a popular guy in our household and i was very pleased to see hime GONE!…. Only to find another member of his family appear again over the last couple of days.

The new on is not as big and fat,, bus has the same beady eyes and orange head and is swift as anything.  There was no way I could catch this one.  So in a sick tribute to our lizard/newt.  I had to doodle him and here he is.

Day 328 – Post-its for the new week

May 24th, 2010 No comments

The weekend is now behind us….. Family are slowly trickling out of town.  Always sad to say goodbye, but at least we have the memories we share together.

Maybe now, life starts getting back to normal.

I thought  I would start the week off with a new series of Postit doodles. Just because I like these quite a bit.

Day 327 – Proud

May 23rd, 2010 No comments

It’s the little things in life that make you proud and sometimes hard work pays off.  This is something I have always instilled in my kids.  Work hard and you will get your rewards.  You will never be disappointed.  This week my kids made me very proud and all the hard work paid off.  So to my boys, this ones for you.
