Day 682 – What happened?
For those who watch American Idol will know what I’m talking about. They boast about 72 million votes and then the outcome is that once again the best singer by a mile (I mean there was no competition) get’s booted off. Seeing this explains why a dumb nonsense song like “Friday” can chart, but a really talented artist gets his dreams crushed. There is something wrong. Society these days is more impressed by mediocrity than recognizing real talent. When will we learn to appreciate the finer things in life. Honor the greats and stop boosting the bad to super-stardom, just so you can make fun of them, when they get there.
James Durbin deserved to win American Idol. As one who struggled through life and overcame adversity to showcase his talent. Week after week he shone and showed versatility and star quality. There is not a singer in the final 3 that can hold a candle to his talent, but now he must sit on the sidelines and watch yet another adequetly ordinary person wins the competition only to dissapear into obscurity 6 months later.
Do I sound like I am pissed, I am. Never fear James will succeed, he made the season so much better to watch. Now that he has gone, I get my Wednesday’s back.
