I was off to the Vampire Weekend Concert last night, they are amazing, What a fantastic show, but not enough time to write a full review. I will tomorrow.
So today’s doodle is one I had waiting in the wings, I call him “The Concert Goer”

The Concert Goer
Somehow when I finished this it reminded me of an Abyss, I don’t know why. Like you want to be sucked into the center. Maybe it’s a black hole, who knows?
It didn’t start out that way.
I like the openness in the center, like it’s crying out to be filled in, but looks perfect while it is not.

How cool is this. I was just selected by “The Top Ten Blog” as one of the “Top 10 Twitter People of the week” I am still blushing. That is so nice.
According to the blog maintained by Tony Hastings in the UK, his blog looks for interesting and innovative bloggers on Twitter:
FRIDAY 10th of September, 2010
Welcome to another eclectic collection of Twitter People who have caught my eye during the last week. The Twitter people I feature may have 1 follower or 1 million, the important thing is what they are bringing to Twitter whether it’s facts, fun, friendship or inspiration. Just click on the images to pay them a visit.

TOP 10 Twitter people of the week
Thanks Tony, you and you blog are awesome.
I took 4 of my favorite designs and merged them into a 4 Square, with a touch of color, they have a whole new look and feel. I like the way this came out.
What’s really cool is that I have found a whole new group of followers via Twitter. There are so many talented people and many that love the doodles and have their own 365 projects going. One is better than the next. Over the next few weeks I will introduce you to many of them. So if you aren’t yet following on Twitter or, hav enot joined me on Facebook (under tjomies.com) then now is the time to do it. I would love to have you all on board.
In the meantime, here is today’s 4Sqr doodle.

I thought I would throw in a couple of classics (all brand new), but my classic doodle style for a change. These two are similar yet very different and this style has shown up a lot over the past year.
As you can tell by paging through my blog, that I am always trying different things. I do like to mix it up a bit, which hopefully shows my versatility and range. Oh, what am I saying, I like to draw, I like to doodle and what ever i do always makes it’s way onto the daily.
These two I simply call “classics”.

Classic Doodle #2

Here’s another new little character, to add to my arsenal. I call this one “Diggly”. Here he is taking a Magic carpet ride, but he could very well be relaxing on a sofa or hanging 10 on a surf board. For me Diggly is spending just another day in Doodleville.
It’s alway’s fun to come out with something new.

I hope you all had a great holiday (those how follow in the states) It’s back to work today. It’s gonna be a crazy busy week, so this past quiet weekend was very welcome.
This guy, who I call Samurai Snake Man, just popped up out of nowhere. I thin he is cool, espcially with the sakes surrounding him. you tell me what you think.
It’s midnight, so I’m trying to get to bed at a semi decent hour, so I will post this and head to bed.
I give you Samurai Snake Man doodle:

Continuation of the color experiment. It’s late so i thought I would just put it up and discuss tomorrow.
—> proof that I posted this way too late, I had numbered this one 434 at first. Fixed it now, but I have to start posting at less ungodly hour.

I put my Sharpies to the test and decided to move away from black only to put this one together. At first it may just look like a bunch of squiggles, but I’m sure there’s more in there. If not, then I just like the change of pace and expansive use of color. U can decide.

This year 2010 is just flying by. We are now in the month of September. Summer is rapidly coming to a close and this being the Labor Day weekend, the pools are officially shutting down. Schools are back in session. Where did the Summer go? Soon we will be in coats and scarves. Somehow, I just can’t begin to think about that.
It’s been a long week. I am hoping for a quiet, relaxing weekend and I hope you all have a good one too.
Here’s the first of our Labor Day weekend doodles.
