I ended up having to take some pictures of my purple creations, because as you will see with some of them, the colors did not come through on the scanned version. This one was not too bad. I think they look the best in real life, so the lucky person who eventually gets the original will see exactly what I mean.
I love the design itself, it’s like a massive wave approaching the shore.
This is the photographed version, where you can see the distinction between the purple and the blue. The scanned version did not show the distinction. On some of the others I will show how differently they came out.
I have been working on this purple/blue/black series of doodles, that came out really well. The only problem is that they did not scan in so great. The colors got lost in the scanning process… and then the scanner froze up on me.
So I am going to take pictures of them and then upload to the site, but all this week will be part of the purple series. So I thought I would kick off with something very different to the new series, but that I had colored totally in purple. This is a good way to kick off the week long series.
I often so my series of post-it doodles, which i love. Working in the confines of the small post-it and coming up with something unique and different every time. I am actually gathering all of them together to create a post-it mosaic.
These I did on the even smaller mini-postit. A mere 2 x 1.5 inch space Not much space to be overly creative, but this is what I was able to come up with. Most of these are done at my desk, while on the phone. I grab a pen and the nearest note and do something.
I had to post something quickly and I have not scanned some of my latest stuff, so Snomadoodle has to be put up early, I was holding him off until we get around to talking about snow, but what the heck, here he is.
Here’s 4 different perspectives of the same. I do love the way these came out and it’s given me a whole new set of ideas. Just to think yesterday I was feeding you carrots and now these. I am gonna turn these into a whole range of greeting cards. I think they will work very well.
I saw this article the other day about how there is a campaign out there now that makes baby carrots seem sexy. They created this provocative add campaign for mini peeled carrots. I was in hysterics. What’s next, Melons that are luscious and hot or super sexy Aubergine.
So I thought I would take another look at the carrot and see if it entices one, or turns you on.
Saw the awesome South African band “The Parlotones” in concert here in DC last night. The very first leg of their US tour. Check them out, their album “Stardust Galaxies”, which I have just launched in the states yesterday. It is really cool. So if you see them in a city near you, go check them out.
I was in a funny mood when I did this one. I was working on some “De-Facing” doodles and these gyst just popped up. They are cute. I need to put them in other funky places.
It just struck me as I was watching news footage and satellite images of Hurricane Igor (which looks huge and ominous) that many of my doodles look like hurricanes. Is there a connection? I do have a fascination with weather phenomenons, so maybe that’s where is stems from.
Today’s doodle is no exception. except its a lot more colorful. A wild and colorful hurricane doodle. See what you think.
Actually, this one is too elegant to be called a hurricane.
I was introduced to this great South African band “The Parlotones” when I was given their latest CD “Stardust Galaxies” by a visitor from back home. I fell in love with their music straight away. Then I saw their appearance at the World Cup open ceremony concert. They are fantastic, with haunting pleasing melodies.
I always wished I would get to see a great South African band here in DC. I got lucky when I caught “FreshlyGround” at the Zanzibar club last year. Well we got lucky again. I have been following “The Parlotones” on twitter for a while and every now and then I’d give them a plug or ask a question. A couple of weeks ago, I asked in passing when I would get to see them in the States, turns out they are launching their US tour this week and are in DC tomorrow night. So I promised them I would give them a plug on the “Daily” and I went one better by making today’s doodle a recreation of their megaphone symbol.
I already have tickets and will be seeing them live tomorrow night. Talk about an awesome treat.
