Day 293 – A week of ideas
This week I am taking several different doodle styles that I do on a regular basis and giving them a feature of their own. As you saw in my Zen series last week, most doodles are an expression of mind and body. Most of the time your mind is “image” free, you are preoccupied especially when doodling in meetings, and you are not focused on the drawing itself. The sub-conscience (the mind part) takes over and the image appears through your fingers (the body part). What you end up with may be nowhere near what you start with in the beginning.
Feature 1 – The Floral Doodle
This is a classic floral doodle that starts in the center and moves outwards. Here I’ve used a mix of swirls and stripes, building the shape as I help it grow. When doing a shape like this, you need to be sure to have even peaks, otherwise your floral shape will end up being lopsided.
