Day 14 – New week, New idea
It’s a new week, so why not branch out of the mould and try something new.
Lisa, my partner at Tjomies Stationery has always been my inspiration for new ideas. She is so creative and is always mixing it up as is evident in her own blog “AVintage Dream”. Well, Lisa has a way of setting challenges for me, that I just can’t resist. Whether it be a new greeting card design or a scrapbooking concept, she plants the seed and it just grows and grows. Yesterday, over tea, she mentioned in passing “Why don’t you doodle on objects that we see in everyday life”, Step outside of the 2-dimensional page” and she gave me an egg and a brown paper bag…. With that I was off and running and now I have a weeks worth of different objects that I have doodled on. It’s a lot harder than you think…. surfaces are rough, ink runs. But it is fun coming up with new ideas. Take a look all week at some of the odd places I found to put my signature doodles on.
I started with an egg, as a symbol of something new. I was so nervous, because I used a raw egg and I was convinced I would pierce it. It worked out just fine. Take a look and keep coming back all week. In between I’ll post more of my regular designs.
