Crash Aborted!
I am back up and running and able to post on a regular schedule and keep the streak alive. We will not miss a day. Yesterday, while I was down (at home) I was able to post a couple of twitpics of some post-it note doodles I had lying around the office. Then I realized I had scanned a while bunch a while back, so those became the segue to today’s doodle. It’s been a while since I did a series on post-it notes, so now is a good a time as ever.
These have always been a favorite of mine. It’s so easy, while you are on the phone at work to grab a post-it and start scribbling. Well those scribbles turned into doodles, which in turn found a life of their own online.
If you do a quick search for post-it on my blog, you will see the many others that I have done. Here is today’s series.

Later today we will know who won as the best blog in DC and win or lose this was a fun experience. Even just to be recognized as on of the Top 10 blogs in a city like Washington, DC is amazing. And to all of you who voted, I want to say a big thank you.
Before the voting closed, I took this snapshot of the “Poll”, so you can see who all was nominated:

It even mentions that blatant voter rigging, but all that aside, “The Doodle Daily” made the Top 10 (which was cut to the Top 9) and that is so special for “The little blog that could”
Now, back to today’s Tattoo doodle:
Aren’t these designs so special?

What an amazing day! First my blog gets nominated as one of the TOP 10 blogs in DC. Then we have a crazy day of voting (and I do want to thank all of you who logged on to vote) and lo and behold, some smart ass has to mess with the votes and get themselves and their blog eliminated.
The great thing is “The Doodle Daily” is still in the running, so now you all have to go out and vote once again. You have until 12:01 am on Friday morning to vote. So log on to WTOP, select “The doodle Daily” in the box that says “today’s poll” and vote, vote, vote. We can win this.
We know that everybody has doodled at sometime or other, be it in a meeting, on the phone, on a napkin or magazine cover. So you can all relate. The Doodle is as much an art form as anything and Art is so prevalent in DC. We fit DC to a tee.
So go out and vote. Once again here is the link to cast your vote.
Today’s doodle pics up where we left off yesterday, with our new section on re-facing. This one is one of my favorites. The shape of the back was so perfect to draw on, like a permanent tattoo and she has a message to add as well. So this one is for a Great Cause as well.
Here’s today’s refaced doodle for Day 387. NOW GO VOTE!

The Doodle Daily made the Top 10 list of Blogs in DC, now I need your votes.
Log on to WTOP.com or click on this direct link and vote for The Doodle Daily.
Let’s Make “The Doodle Daily” the best blog ever.

@drawdrawdraw The Doodle Daily turns 1 today. 365 Doodles and counting check it out at http://www.thedoodledaily.com
One of my ispirations for starting the Doodle daily blog was Noah Scalin’s Skull-a-Day Blog. I have spoken about Noah often and today he did a very nice feature on The doodle Daily hitting 365. Noah has inspired many artistic people to take the 365 challenge (He posted a new Skull every day). I just did it with Doodles. To see a clearer version of the entry, take a look at Noah’s kind words on his Bonus blog for today.
Here’s an image of what was posted:

I’m ending off the “Master Class” series with what I call “The Landscape Doodle”. This is a doodle that is somewhat planned out, yet still has the free form feel. The Zentangles I did last week are like that in a way. They were designed to fit in a predetermined space, they were planned out, yet the doodle itself was still free form.
A while back I did a series on lansdcapes (Day 116 Kaapstad) or (Day 113 - Doodled Landscape) for example, that show case what I mean. These Doodles set out with a purpose to to represnt something specific, even if some of them are abstract in nature. Take a look back and let me know what you think.
Feature # 5 – Landscape
Sometimes when i am doing these, I will draw a rough pencil outline, since we are trying to create a “landscape” of sorts and with out an outline the landscape may fo astray. Often, I will use different colors, so as to create more than one dimension and I always love the contrast of the black and blue. I call this one “Window to the World” and when I started it I did not have a window in mind, that’s just how it evolved. What you see through that window is purely up to your imagination.
Take a close look at this and tell me what you see, don’t be afraid to leave a comment. I relish the feedback.

Time to move on to something different. I am sure the classics will be back, because I am always finding old drawings where ever I turn. So here are a couple more and then we will launch into the next exciting thing. Paisley is a classic in it’s own right, so it definitely has a place here.
But first, did you notice the Social Network buttons I added to the top of the page. Give em a click. Show your love by “Digg”ing us or Stumbled Upon and if you haven’t yet become a fan on Facebook and follow the doodles on Twitter. Here are details:
www.twitter.com/thedoodledaily
and become our fan (tjomies.com) on

by clicking on the above Facebook link, will take you directly to the Tjomies Fan page (where the doodles reside).
Ok, I will check back tomorrow to see who loves us.
Now back to the Doodles and the last of the classics for now.

Classic Paisley
Another oldie, but goody.
