Day 395 – Changes Coming

July 30th, 2010 Warren No comments

I am working on some new Doodled greeting cards and a whole new shopping experience.  So look out for it to appear very shortly.  I’m excited.

It’s been long overdue to move away from just offering Christmas cards.  So with the new Shopping cart, I will have a whole new range of products and you will be able to order directly using Paypal and more.

In the meantime, here’s today’s doodle:

Day 394 – Growing

July 29th, 2010 Warren No comments

As I head towards DAY 400 of this incredible experience, I want to start expanding the horizons.  I know there are a ton of very creative people out there, or people that know people who have at times picked up a pen and doodled.  So now I need to seek you out.  I would like to create a place on the Daily where I get to include the work of others.

Whether you doodle in meetings, at home, at school, wherever it doesn’t matter.  Next week I will have deatils of the criteria to submit your work, but I am excited to see what others out there are doing.  Like 1,000,000 giraffes, maybe  I need to set a goal to get 1,ooo,ooo doodles.  How cool would that be.

So if you are not yet following me Twitter yet, get cracking.  Jump on the band wagon.  Hit the bird to get started, following my TWEETS.

Start looking for your creative side, I want to see your doodles.  For now here’s mine for today… Day 394.

This represnts how I am hoping to Grow the Daily.

Day 393 – Quacks like a …

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, does that make it a duck?

You decide.

Here’s a quacking good duck doodle:

Can you believe that they are still Thousands of homes still with out power.  We are very lucky to have escaped it this time.  Monday was a long day, it’s after 1:00 am right now, been working late.   So this will be a quick entry.  Hope you had a chance to check out the scribble project that I did.  It was a nice surprise to see it posted.

Day 391 – Quite the Storm

July 26th, 2010 Warren No comments

We had a major storm yesterday afternoon, that brought trees down all around us.  We we very lucky not to lose power, because there are close to 300,000 homes with out power last night.  There is nothing worse when it is in the 90s to be powerless.

This storm came out of nowhere and was pretty scary at times.  I guess that’s what we have to deal with in DC.

Here’s the doodle for Day 391.

Day 390 – 100 deg doodle

July 25th, 2010 Warren No comments

It was another scorcher in DC yesterday over 100 degrees.  Enough with this heat already.

Thought I’d take a break from the Tattoo doodles and go back to basics for a day or two (that’s because I need to work on a few new Celebrity Tattoo doodles)  So for today, I have something plain and simple, yet still fresh.

Enjoy!

Day 389 – What an honor

July 24th, 2010 Warren No comments

As they say in the classics or at least at every award show… It’s an honor just to be nominated.  I didn’t come out on Top as the Best Blog in DC, but no one can take away that I was nominated as part of the Top 10.  What an amazing honor.  I appreciate all those who voted, I appreciate all those who have stopped by the blog to say hi, or view my work.

The Doodle Daily is not your typical “What’s on in DC Life” blog, but I try through the art of the doodle to show what might be happening in our City.  So for that I was very happy to be included as one of the best.

I plan to keep the doodles going for a long time.  Very soon I plane to invite you all to join in the fun.  I will be starting to post guest doodlers on a regular basis.  So get out your pens and start drawing so that I can include you all in this amazing journey.

Now it’s time for today’s doodle.  Another in the series of “re-facings”

Day 385 – Alien Designs

July 20th, 2010 Warren No comments

This one (which could be a mask as well) does look very alien like.  It didn’t start off that way, but then they never do.  Most of the doodles materialize out of nowhere.

Let me know what you think of this one.  She even has a tear in her eye.  A softhearted Alien?

Day 384 – To market, To market

July 19th, 2010 Warren No comments

We spent the morning yesterday at the Eastern Market downtown.  It’s been a while since I had been there and forgot how much fun it can be.  Despite the heat, we we had a really good time and came back with something different to make for dinner.  I was amazed at how many African curios you could pick up over there.  Who needs to travel to Africa to pick your wooden masks or Soapstone elephants any more.  Just head on over to the Market, you are bound to find them there.  And what’s with all the Giraffes  these days, we saw a ton of different Giraffe artwork.  I took some pics to share with “one million giraffes”

Today’s Doodle, reminds me of the African Masks we saw there.  Not quite a mask, but a Mask shape…. but it did give me some ideas of a series on Doodled masks.  More on that later.  The doodle itself also has an African feel to it.  I like it.

A mask like shape - without the mask
