Day 124 – Halloween

October 31st, 2009 No comments

So what do you put up for Halloween?  A doodled pumpkin?  too cliched.  A witch, even worse.  Maybe I should have doodled candy.  I don’t know, but I do know that the movie Halloween (the original, not the remakes) always left an impression….  Basically scared the crap out of me.

Here’s my Halloween Doodle …..

Day 123 – Halloween ideas

October 30th, 2009 No comments

In keeping with this weeks theme of a little bit of this, a little bit of that, we would be amiss if we did not include some of our now famous “funny faces” and the ones I picked for today would make great Halloween Costumes.  hey, the faces alone are enough to scare the living dead.  You decide for yourself.

Day 122 – Hot Gossip

October 29th, 2009 No comments

The celebs have been missing for a while.  They have been scarce since we did the Kane Show.  As part of our Mash up week, we had to include a couple of celeb doodles and who better then the King of Celeb gossip Perez Hilton and her TLC royal highness Kate (the hair alone is a doodle waiting to happen)

Perez, if you see this, you have a face just waiting to be doodled.  I just happened to pick the Blue hair (cause I have a blue sharpie).  It is a such fun pic to doodle (but somehow I always struggle with the teeth)  Kane said I gave him “teen wolf”  teeth….. well I didn’t fair any better with Perez…. Oh what the hell, he will take out his highlighter and draw an arrow directly to them.   I think anyone who sees this post needs to write Perez at: perez@PerezHilton.com and let him know that he needs to check this out.

and as always the image inspiration for this doodle was:

As I said earlier Kate Gosselin has a hairstyle that just screams out “DOODLE ME”  (even though she has since changed her looks) I just took this one and ran with it.

Day 121 – Just doodles

October 28th, 2009 1 comment

This week instead of going with a week long theme, I decided mix things up a little.  We had the leaves on Monday, the Ceramic tile yesterday (and I have another of those to display as well) and today I thought I’d post a couple of the drawings I did in my multitude of Tuesday meetings, yesterday.  Most of the time I have my drawings backlogged, with no opportunity to post them, but these turned out really well, so I thought I would not put them on hold and share  them straight away.

My Mondays and Tuesdays are always filled with long meetings, which give me ample time to draw.  I’m sure I’ve said numerous times, I cannot sit in a meeting without a pen in hand.  It’s automatic…. the doodles just come pouring out and these came pouring out all day yesterday.

The one above was done, while I was on a long conference call….

Day 120 – Ceramic Doodle

October 27th, 2009 No comments

I started playing around with some old ceramic tiles the other day, just to see how things would work out.  My faithful old sharpie wouldn’t cut it.  I was getting smudged all over, didn’t look good at all.  After some trial and error, I found the pen that worked and this was the outcome.  Now I’m thinking these could be mounted and framed.  what do you think?

Day 119 – Fall is Fading Fast

October 26th, 2009 No comments

I love the fall colors, they are so exciting and vibrant, but they too fade very quickly and the quicker the leaves fall, the sooner you realize that Winter is right around the corner.  These leaves all came from one tree.  It’s almost as if it’s still hanging on to Summer (with the green leaves) but giving in to the changing season with the yellow and red.

The doodled version in red and green hopefully reflects the switch in the seasons.

Day 118 – Sunglasses at night

October 25th, 2009 No comments

Made it through a wet and soggy day yesterday and it was one of those Saturday’s where we were running around all day.  I would much rather have relaxed at home, pen in hand putting some new doodles together.  I did have fun with this one though.

Day 117 – Art Abounds

October 24th, 2009 No comments

Had family visiting from South Africa last night, so I was busy in the kitchen cleaning up till the wee hours.  No much energy to write, so I will dive straight in to the latest doodle.  Another one in the Art for Art sake series,  enjoy!

Day 116 – Kaapstad

October 23rd, 2009 No comments

Today’s blog entry is blog entry is designed especially for all the South Africans and former South Africans that log on.  When I started doing landscapes, I first went abstract and then looked at a picture I have on my wall of Table Mountain and the City of Cape Town and knew that I had to include this.  So for anyone who has ever been to Cape Town, lives in Cape Town and knows how beautiful it is, please leave a comment here to tell me what the sky line means to you.  I hope my Table Mountain doodle does my home city justice.

Now that I’ve done one, I am going to have to take on several other cities or world landmarks.  Suggestions?

Hierdie een is vir al die mense in die Kaap.  Ek gee vir julle die Tafelberg se doodle.

Day 115 – Museum of Modern Doodles

October 22nd, 2009 No comments

Yesterday was quite the hectic day, but I made it through unscathed.  Work got crazy for a Wednesday and the day started way too early and just never ended.  I had started working on an interesting landscape doodle, that I wanted to post, but I’ll save that for tomorrow, because I really like this modern piece and wanted to make sure I posted it as part of this weeks theme.
