Day 255 – Gorillas in my midst
This wildlife phase is really catching on. The Elephant, the Giraffe and now the Gorilla. I think he looks very cute, and not in the least bit dangerous. Keep your eye out for more fun creatures as the week progresses.

Continuing on with the wild life series…. I bring you the elephant in the room.
What more is there to say?
We will move from yesterday’s abstract animal into a series on Wildlife. Starting with the Giraffe. This one just evolved and subsequently let to several others, that you will see over the next few days. This doodle still has the abstract look and feel, but it’s easier to make out the animal. I love the long kneck and legs as they move through the bush.
The hectic weekend seemed to knock the wind out of me sails. As the English say, “I’m Knackered”. Now that the Oscars are behind us, I was going to start a new doodle series this week, I just don’t have the energy as I write this. So I pulled up a drawing I did over several meetings ago and thought, What the heck is this. It looks like a chicken trapped in a urn. I don’t quite know. So take a look and maybe you can tell me what you see.
The abstract animal is where I was heading with my new series, so maybe this is a good segue. We will have to wait and see. Comments welcome on what you think this could be.
Another year is done and this year I was spot on. Six for six, not bad at all. The show was a little flat for me, but it moved and came in at just ove 3 and a half hours. Sandra Bullock was as cute as ever and we finally saw the first woman director to win the award. Not bad at all.
So as we wind down and Oscar season comes to a close. Here’s a rushed doodle tribute to Best Actress Oscar winner Sandra Bullock.
Tomorrow we will be back with a new series of doodles.
Tonight is the night I wait fro all year. As any avid movie buff and award show Fundi knows, this is our Superbowl, our Game 7, the biggest night of the year. I have been following and tracking the Academy Awards for as long as I can remember. As a kid I rememebr staying up late the night before listening to “The Voice of America” on shorwave radio to hopefuly catch a snippet of what the predictions might be. I kept scrap books of nominees and winners as a momento.
This year I made a concerted effort to see as many of the major nominations as possible and the selection of movies were very deserving.
So here goes my predictions for the 82nd Academy Awards:
Best Picture – “The Hurt Locker”
Best Actor – Jeff Bridges in”Crazy Heart”
Best Actress – Sandra Bullock in “The Blind Side”
Best Supporting Actor – Christoph Waltz in “Inglorious Bastrerds”
Best Supporting Actress – Moninque in “Precious”
Best Director – Kathryn Bigelow “The Hurt Locker”
Those are “The Doodle Daily’s” Predictions for the major awards, let’s see how things pan out tonight.
The 82nd Academy Awards live in ABC at 8/7 central. I will be there watching from beginning to end.
And the Oscar goes to …
Now we are one day away from Oscar night. Final predictions, speculations are being made in papers and on TV. This year I think surprises will be few and far between. I was going to have my final predictions out today, but I think I will wait for my Oscar Tribute page tomorrow. So, I’m affraid you will have to wait ome more day.
Tonight the “Razzies” are announced for the complete opposite of what Oscar stands for. The Razzies are for the “worst” in movies for the previous year. This year for the first time the Oscar winner for Best Actress, could also pick up the Razzie for Worst Actress. But again we will have to wait and see.
So for today we have a regular old doodle….. but tomorrow is “Oscar Doodle Day”
So here we are at the pinacle of the movie awards season. I am working on my final Oscar pics. In the major categories, this year is much easier than it has been in the past. I don’t anticipate too many surprises, but one never can tell. So tomorrow I will have my list of pics and on Sunday we will have a special Oscar Day blog. So stay tuned.
For today, I have a very different doodle design. Let me know what you think.
I feel like I need inspiration. Maybe I’m tired, maybe I need ideas, but I’m having a hard time coming up with new ideas right now. I do love this doodle though. So give me ideas, give me that inspitation I am looking for.
Here’s today’s doodle:
So Leroy was quite the hit. What a cute guy he is. Today’s doodle made me think of the song “The Purple People Eater” or the Gogol Bordello song “start wearing purple” You be the judge….
